Modeling, sewing, knitting and creating graffiti are all different types of art. You can take some classes on these techniques or find areas that all you to create graffiti art. Pottery and creating home decor are two other fun ways of expressing your creative inside in a non-traditional way.

Really think outside of the box when you are considering all of the different art forms. For example, writing, dancing and performing in theater productions are all types of art; you can start to keep a journal or try out for a play with the local company. Do you love to garden? Certainly, an array of stunning flowers is a work of art that many can enjoy.

You can also experience the art that other people make, and you can see what the different options are in your community. For example, you might want to attend a seminar that is focused on outdoor art or something of that nature.

Abstract art was identified in Germany in the first part of the 20th century. Alfred Barr coined the phrase to describe works that were completed by Wassily Kandinsky. What is most popularly known as abstract art today is an American Movement that that began after World War II. Pablo Picasso was a pioneer in this movement, along with others who were a part of the Cubism Movement.

This type of art can be in the form of paintings or sculptures and involves the use of vivid colors, shapes, precise brushstrokes and scale. Abstract Art does not depict anything in the natural world. It is exaggerated lines and brushstrokes that are geometrical in nature. While the works of art can resemble objects or people, they are typically in a fantasy like form instead of a real life form.

Kandinsky is the father of this movement, and he believed that the colors that he used represented real life emotions. In his mind, red represented confidence while green represented peace. He felt that blue had ties with the supernatural word, and Yellow stood for numerous emotions including excitement, warmth and craziness. Kandinsky’s art inspired many artists in the mid and late 20th century.

Impressionist artwork is easy on the eyes with its beautiful colors, soft forms and sleepy bucolic scenery; no wonder it is so joyous to discover. Some of this artwork appears very dreamy and can bring about feelings of calm and relaxation to the viewer. If you are looking for serenity and happiness, head out to your local museum to catch a glimpse of these beautiful paintings. Most museums have some impressionist art work on display; check your local paper for information.
Upon entering a gallery exhibit of impressionist art, a feeling of peace and quiet envelope’s the air.I found some more information here. One could almost feel the breeze from a pastel colored sky—in an impressionist painting – lift you off your feet carrying you into the wind as if you were a bird in flight. This is typical of how impressionist art work appeals to the masses. Some impressionist art tells a tale of history and the discovery of foreign places. In this sense, the viewer lives vicariously through the painting, imagining traveling through time to new and exciting places. The discovery of impressionist art work brings joy to many people and is possibly the most popular genre of art work to date.

Learning about art is sure to add value to your life. You will see the world in new ways by gaining a new appreciation of form, color, yourself, and the human condition.

Great works of art can be viewed online, but there is no substitute for being in the presence of an artistic piece. Visit a local art museum. Pay attention to which pieces move you. Then, try to identify why they do.

Reading about art is another route. From Realism to Impressionism, Rembrandt to Picasso, art has a fascinating history and philosophy. Begin your search online or visit your library’s art section.

Of course, you can jump right in and get your own hands dirty. Make your own art. Art classes can be expensive, but they can be worth it. Learning clay, glass, or other media from a teacher can save you the frustration of learning on your own. For drawing and painting, online resources such as videos and tutorials are a fantastic way to learn at your own pace.

Art can seem intimidating for those who are just beginning their journey, but there is no need to be timid: You can start from any direction. Just start!

Throughout time art has changed styles and themes. With the many different styles, it is understandable that almost everyone has a particular style of art that they enjoy. Two art themes that have become wide spread are the traditional art themes and modern art. These all have different styles to them, but they each share the same characteristics within their groups.

Traditional themes have included murals, such as Michelangelo’s work. These themes are centered more around the medium that is used, which during that time were oil paints. The full explanation can be found at http://www.theepochtimes.com/n2/arts-entertainment/eleanor-ettinger-gallery-bastion-of-contemporary-realism-266761.html The paintings that adorn the different art galleries during this time show the classic style of art that can hold numerous amounts of beauty.

Modern art on the other hand has become a new theme. With mediums more diverse it is possible to see different styles around the same theme, unique thinking. One form of modern art is sculptures. Built with steel or other various materials, these uniquely shaped pieces of art can spark the imagination of all. This art theme is not for all, but for those whom enjoy it, it provides a new perspective to traditional sculptures.

Whichever art style is preferred; there are different themes to each age.

Making art fun and informative for children is something that we all strive to do. It has been shown that the children who are involved with the arts as part of their daily routine outperform children whom are not by 18 to 27 percent on standardized testing.

Having the child find what art interests them the most is the key to getting them interested in the arts. At first it will be trial and error on what may interest them. Taking the child to museums and art galleries is also a way to enlighten them to the wide variety of art that there is. Going to the library and searching on line are also areas to get suggestions on new art ideas.

Art is a great way for a child to express themselves. Art has no set lines that must be followed, art is more of the feelings that are expressed on paper or canvas, with clay or metal, photography, or what ever materials that can become its own masterpiece. Art is rated on the feelings that the artist and the viewer have when the piece is complete not on the ability for follow a set outline. This giving the child a sense of creativity, pride, self esteem and the ability to express themselves in a constructive manner. `
