A Window into the World of Art

Making Art Fun and Informative for Children

Making art fun and informative for children is something that we all strive to do. It has been shown that the children who are involved with the arts as part of their daily routine outperform children whom are not by 18 to 27 percent on standardized testing.

Having the child find what art interests them the most is the key to getting them interested in the arts. At first it will be trial and error on what may interest them. Taking the child to museums and art galleries is also a way to enlighten them to the wide variety of art that there is. Going to the library and searching on line are also areas to get suggestions on new art ideas.

Art is a great way for a child to express themselves. Art has no set lines that must be followed, art is more of the feelings that are expressed on paper or canvas, with clay or metal, photography, or what ever materials that can become its own masterpiece. Art is rated on the feelings that the artist and the viewer have when the piece is complete not on the ability for follow a set outline. This giving the child a sense of creativity, pride, self esteem and the ability to express themselves in a constructive manner. `
